IST Fees/Cost
The World Jamboree IST fee for 18-25 year olds has been reduced to $1750. The IST fee for 25+ is $1950, both figures are about what they were in 2007. Payment schedules should have been e-mailed to all who registered.
Included in the fee is (probably) the following:
- Transportation from the transportation center (in Copenhagen) to the Jamboree site and return
- Tent, duffle and backpack
- Meals from dinner July 25 to breakfast August 8 (unless you are in a job requiring an earlier or later date)
- Jamboree badge and neckerchief
- Likely other minor items such as hats, t-shirts, etc.
- BSA fee to the World Jamboree organizers for IST
In other words, your time from arrival at the transportation hub to return is all expenses paid.
Not included in the fee:
- Meals outside the dates and times you are at World Jamboree
- Transport from the United States to Copenhagen and back
- Any lodging or touring outside the World Jamboree reporting dates
- Personal gear, clothing, spare uniforms, etc.
- Souvenirs
Flights to Denmark (nearest airport is Copenhagen) in July and August are considered "high season." You will be picked up and dropped off at Copenhagen airport. See the Travel page for tips and techniques for saving money on travel.
Other considerations: This is a great chance to see some of Europe. The Jamboree takes up a two week period, but you can stretch that to include the surrounding weekends. Take advantage of it. See the Travel page for further thoughts.
